Thomas Gonnella
Councilman Thomas Gonnella is currently serving his fourth term on the Wood-Ridge Council and is presently the Fire Department Commissioner.  Tom has also served as Council President for 3 years and 10 years as Finance Chair where he was a champion of fiscal responsibility, tight budgets and stable taxes.

As the liaison to the Wood-Ridge Memorial Library, Tom was instrumental in spearheading and supporting the Library expansion along with the Library Committee. He supported the new Union Avenue Sports Complex as Council President and worked with the local Girl Scouts on various projects to improve emergency response time for the Police and Fire Departments.

Tom's civic involvement in children's recreation spans 18 years; he is a past President of the Wood-Ridge / Moonachie Little League, and the WRHS Booster Association.  He has coached Biddy Basketball  and Little League Baseball.  Tom is a graduate of Jersey City State College with a BA in Business Economics.  He is employed as a Safety Consultant with Conner Strong Risk Control.  Tom is a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers NJ Chapter 82.

Married to Bette and a resident of Wood-Ridge for 38 years. Tom and Bette have raised four children, all graduates of Wood-Ridge High School.  He is a Parishioner of Assumption Church and holds the highest degree (4th degree) as member of the Knights of Columbus Bishop O'Connor Chapter and (3rd degree) of St. Anthony's Council #11585.
