Ezio I. Altamura

Councilman Altamura is a dedicated public servant and committed volunteer. Appointed in 2000 and re-elected four times to Borough Council. Ezio has been recognized by our local Wood-Ridge VFW Post 3616 and their Ladies Auxiliary and presented with their “Outstanding Citizen Award”.

Ezio’s leadership has been instrumental in improving the quality of life for Wood-Ridge residents by establishing the “Keep Wood-Ridge Beautiful” program, Coaches background check, Co-founder and President of the recreation Track & Field program since inception, Valley Blvd. Streetscape, Adopt-A-Highway Program and the development of the official borough website.

Ezio currently serves as Chairman of the Public Works Committee, liaison to the Recreation, and Police Committee. Ezio is also a former Shade Tree Commissioner, and currently runs the 'Merchants’ group, liaison to the Veterans, Merchant Committee, and Co-Council participant in the establishment of the Veterans Walk of Freedom.

  • Founder and partner of GJEM Insurance Agency / Division of Otterstedt Agency in 1994, holding the following professional designations; Accredited Adviser in Insurance (AAI), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Certified Workers Compensation Professional (CWCP) and New Jersey Workers Compensation Professional (NJWCP)
  • Municipal Risk Manager to four South Bergen towns
  • Married to Annette for 26 years with one daughter, Christina who attends New York University
  • Parishioner of Our Lady of Assumption Church
  • Coach / Manager / Board of Director / Division Coordinator / Corporate Sponsor for the following Wood-Ridge recreational groups over the past 15 years: Soccer, Girls Softball, Little League, Biddy Basketball, Track & Field
